West Bay Street

West Bay Street is a one-mile realigned roadway and park system in Nassau Bahamas. The old West Bay Street Park, displaced by new development, provided mature tree transplants to the new park. The new roadway park provides users with ample color, foliage, and natural experiences. The park engaged a natural pond, hidden on the interior of the site before re-alignment, with boardwalks, allowing viewers to appreciate the natural wildlife on the pond that had never been seen by most Bahamians. Walkways are imprinted with flora leaves to capture local character. This roadway has been recognized as the “Best Streetscape” in the Bahamas.
