Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Expansion

The objective was to create a tropical island lagoon themed around an old tropical fruit packaging plant turned into a water coaster thrill ride nestled among swaying palms, colorful flowering trees, and lush tropical flowering shrubs.  By artfully blending the edges of new landscaping with the existing pine forest, a seamless back drop of multiple layers was created.  Lush tropical plantings create a sense of place for the lagoon and beach, and anchor the ride building.  The Landscape Architects were responsible for the design layout of a 12,000 SF lagoon pool, pedestrian walkways, lounging deck with beach areas, and themed decorative appointments.
